On Multiplayer Techniques for Crowdsourcing Mapping onto Custom Domain-Specific Architectures

چکیده
One of the grand challenges in the design of portable/wearable devices is to achieve optimal efficiency and flexibility in a tiny low power package. Coarse-grained reconfigurable architectures (CGRAs) hold great promise for energy-efficient flexible designs for a domain of applications. CGRAs are very promising due to the ability to highly customize such architectures to an application domain. However, mapping applications onto such architectures is a perennially difficult problem the greater the customization of architecture, the greater the difficulty of mapping applications onto that architecture efficiently. Our previous research has shown that crowdsourcing can be a highly effective means to solve small and moderate sized mapping problems. This paper presents a case study on multiplayer techniques with the goal of scaling to larger and more complex mapping problems in a graceful manner. To conduct this case study, we have designed a multiplayer version of our interactive mapping game, UNTANGLED. In this work, we used the benchmarks that are 2 to 5 times as large as those we have served to players to date. Our results show that multiplayer techniques are effective, and the most effective style of presentation depends on player experience, with more experienced players benefitting from a higher level of autonomy. PRINGL - A domain-specific language for incentive management in crowdsourcing
Novel types of crowdsourcing systems require a wider spectrum of incentives for efficient motivation and management of human workers taking part in complex collaborations. Incentive management techniques used in conventional crowdsourcing platforms are not suitable for more intellectually-challenging tasks. Currently, incentives are custom-developed and managed by each particular platform. This...

Human computation and crowdsourcing are increasingly gaining momentum. Many platforms already exist providing basic features for crowdsourcing different types of tasks to the Web. Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) provide the ideal technical framework to support interactions with both Human-Provided Services (HPS) and Software-Based Services (SBS). A unified service-oriented computing approa...

Recon gurable circuits and systems have evolved from application speci c accelerators to a general purpose computing paradigm. But the algorithmic techniques and software tools are also heavily based on the hardware paradigm from which they have evolved. Loop statements in traditional programs consist of regular, repetitive computations which are the most likely candidates for performance enhan...
متن کاملRapid System-Level Performance Evaluation and Optimization for Application Mapping onto SoC Architectures
System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures integrate several heterogeneous components onto a single chip. These components provide various capabilities such as dynamic voltage scaling, reconfiguration, multiple power states, etc. that can be exploited for performance optimization during application design. We propose a Generic Model (GenM) which captures the capabilities of a large class of SoC archite...
